Biography

Ebony Oaten is the double-Ruby winning author of Historical fiction. With co-author Catherine Bilson, she wrote the 5-part Bookshop Belles series. Book 2 of the series, Marie's Merry Gentleman, won the Romantic Book of the Year award (Historical category) from the Romance Writers of Australia in 2026.

Her new series, Regency Runaway Brides, begins with My True Love Fled With Me and continues with, Love, Honour and Disobey, coming in 2027.

She is hard at work with Catherine on another historical series, and this time they're turning to crime. This series will be set in Victorian England, in a spa district full of wealthy hypochondriacs and medical charlatans. The perfect recipe for mayhem and murder.

Ebony wrote a series of sweet Regency romance novellas that are grouped together as Unsuitable Suitors. The other series of Regency romance novellas are steamier, and they are grouped together as Regency Romps.

Ebony also writes non-fiction author guides and Young Adult fiction. Her 2017 novel, The Girl and the Ghost won the RuBY (Romantic Elements) in 2018.
